A brief review of the reactions of photosynthesis is presented and it is noted that the current state of knowledge concerning them is incomplete . . . To study the effect of 2, 4-D on photosynthesis, the rate of oxygen evolution and the rate of carbon dioxide fixation by a chloroplast preparation from field pea leaves was determined by using an oxygen sensor and a carbon dioxide electrode.
