The History Of The Soil Conservation Service In Watauga County, North Carolina

The purpose of this study was (1) to survey the situation in Watauga County as it was in 1949; (2) to determine what progress has been made from March, 1950, when the Soil Conservation Office was opened and the technicians began work, to 1960; (3) to evaluate the work that has been done; and (4) to formulate a hypothesis for future land use in the county.
