This study was conducted to determine whether six institutionalized mentally retarded adults could be taught functional money skills in a classroom through the use of a total task presentation procedure paired with a decreasing assistance prompt sequence in a small group setting, and then generalize these skills to making purchases in community fast-food restaurants.
