School Boards In South Carolina: History, Organization, Profile

It was the purpose of this study (1) to examine the involvement of public education and the establishment of school boards in South Carolina to control the operation of public education; (2) to examine the structure of the ninety-three school districts in South Carolina as they are now constructed; (3) to study certain characteristics of the individuals who are presently serving on boards of education.
