Beginning public school teachers today enter the teaching field with relatively little teaching experience, yet nearly a lifetime of experience in the public school in the role of a student. This work seeks to synthesize those two areas of experience by combining literature review from several prominent educational theorists with personal reflection on the author’s experiences in the public school, both as a student and as a teacher candidate. The end result of this reflection and analysis is the formation of a basic framework for a teaching practice that is more meaningful for both a teacher and her students
