As more high school students openly identify as transgender and gender diverse (TGD), it is crucial for teachers and education leaders to understand the unique challenges these students face and how to best support them. By highlighting their experiences, this photovoice study aimed to deepen understanding, allow teachers and education leaders to “see” school buildings through a TGD lens, and guide efforts to better address the needs of this often-marginalized group. This study builds upon the current body of research about the perspectives, experiences, and barriers of a non-binary students in high school.
