A New Spectrophotometric Method For The Determination Of Manganese With N,N,N'N'-Tetrakis (2-Hydroxypropyl) Ethylenediamine

This study explores the potential of using N,N'-tetrakis(2-hydroxypropyl)ethylenediamine (THPED) as a spectrophotometric reagent for manganese determination, focusing on an absorbance maximum near 276 nm. Optimal conditions for the method and its tolerance to foreign ions are established, and the procedure is successfully applied to standard samples provided by the National Bureau of Standards.
