Primary Purpose of Opportunity: The primary purpose of this opportunity is to get trained in public health preparedness skills including mitigation, planning, response, and recovery competencies like case investigation and contact tracing. The selected candidates will be enrolled in a yearlong opportunity to be trained and participate in a collaborative team focused on public health preparedness. What is a fellowship? A fellowship is a type of vocational training (training under an expert/supervisor) where you learn about the industry that the fellow is placed, in this case, Public Health Preparedness. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: General knowledge of the principles and practices of public health preparedness. An ability to communicate effectively with professional and administrative personnel; and an ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures. Competency with online learning, Microsoft products, and written and verbal communication is required. This opportunity requires that a candidate will need to have a keen eye for detail and be able to communicate effectively. Additionally, they will need to be an effective team member to accomplish the training elements.
